About Us

Canopy Builders is Georgetown’s premier outdoor living space builder. We primarily build decks, patio covers, and outdoor kitchens, but also regularly take on fencing projects, sheds, home office conversions– anything with an opening leading to the outdoors. From concept to creation, our team stays with the construction process from the earliest planning stages all the way to the finishing touches. We provide planning guidance and concept proofs to ensure that projects can be completed as designed, on budget, and on schedule. Whether your home is a downtown ADU or a sprawling rural estate, Canopy Builders wants to bring your space to life and inspire you to LIVE OUTDOORS.

Tim Solano

Owner/Principal

Tim believes a solid grasp of building science principles is what helps the built environment best serve its occupants.

From designing a space to overseeing the finishing touches, Tim borrows from architecture and design thinking to create spaces that are as beautiful as they are practical.

Along the way, he provides crucial client services that any successful construction project demands: project management, estimating, and value optimization.

In his spare time, Tim can be found reading the Journal of Light Construction, homesteading with his chickens, and pleading with his wife and kids to participate in carpentry projects around the house.

Project Manager

Born and raised in Central Texas, Trey’s knack for client service and eye for quality give him a natural edge as a Project Manager. Whether it’s talking through the design process with a client, creating a 3D rendering to convey a concept, or picking up a tool to get the job done, Trey is a one-stop shop for successful project delivery.

Trey’s experience in construction sales make him a great resource for projects requiring value-engineering, and he’s always ready to propose solutions when issues arise in the field.

When he’s not climbing your roof or trying to see how many fence pickets he can carry at one time, Trey can usually be found outdoors (most often on a disc golf course). He loves to spend quality time with his wife and son at their home in Georgetown.

We had Canopy Builders build a deck around our cowboy pool, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. The deck looks so clean and seamless — the craftsmanship and attention to detail really stand out. The crew was friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with throughout the whole process.

The only small hiccup was that they forgot to install the joist tape, but they owned up to it immediately and refunded us for the cost — super professional and honest.

Later on, we needed a few boards removed for an unrelated issue, and they came out the very next day to help. They even installed a trap door for future access. Toby went above and beyond — he not only handled the work efficiently but also put all our deck furniture back in place afterward. Total rockstar move.

Highly recommend Canopy Builders for anyone looking for quality work and outstanding service!

Canopy Builders added a beautiful patio cover to our backyard and updated our access door and fencing and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. They worked with us closely from the beginning on creating a complete vision of the project and adding in their expertise and experience. Tim and his crew did a really great job of hanging backyard string lights. They hung the lights around the grass areas as well as under our canopy that we have in the backyard around the pool. The lights really add a welcoming atmosphere to the backyard and allows enough light that helps keep the area safe for walking around. I highly recommend them for any backyard projects that you might have.

Canopy builders did our fence 2.5 years ago. Their service, pricing, material used and communications are five star. We had an issue with gate on the side and Tim sent crew to fix first time, no questions asked. We had another issue on the bolt of gate and though warranty was way out, Tim sent crew and got it fixed.
Tim wanted his customers to be happy, did not charge a dime. Nice company to use if you have any services that are offered by them. Great folks and thank you Tim for your service

I had Canopy Builders build a deck off my existing deck around my cowboy pool and the shed behind my ADU, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. We worked with Canopy to build out a deck around a new Cowboy pool. It came out beautifully and looks like the space was designed for it all along.

Trey Munn was our project manager and was great to work with. He stayed on top of the project from start to finish and completed it ahead of schedule. We really appreciated how responsive he was to our questions and directions. Highly recommend and would happily work with them again.
